Health & Safety Sigma Wireless as a leading communications system integrator, places Health and Safety at the forefront of everything that we do. In line with our ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management System the delegation of responsibilities for implementation of our Health and Safety policy is managed by a health and safety committee chaired by the Operations Director. The health and safety committee are responsible to the managing director and company board of directors. The committee is responsible for implementing programmes to ensure the company health and safety policy is integrated into the company operations.

The Health and Safety Committee shall:
Ensure the company’s Health and Safety policy is brought to the attention of all employees AND that this policy is translated into effective action at all levels
Review and update management on any new or pending legal, industry, ISO or regulatory changes
Update the company Safety Statement & Health and Safety Policy as required and in accordance with the current health and safety regulations and laws.
Convene Health and Safety meetings, which will be held every month or more frequently as appropriate.
Carry out and record Safety Inspections and/or safety audits as and when required.
Authorise the purchase of safety equipment and literature, subject to company controls.
Ensure that any necessary Health and Safety instructions and training are made available to employees where required.
Monitor the Health and Safety performance of the company and inform the managing Director as to any problems or other pertinent matters within their remit.
Monitor the Health and Safety performance of Sub Contractors
Approve the use of Sub-Contractors following a review of the receipt of a satisfactory H& Safety Questioner.
Consult and liaise, as necessary, with the Safety Representative or staff on any aspect of safety at work.
Report any notifiable accidents to the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) or the Health and Safety Executive of Northern Ireland (HSENI) as appropriate.
Record and review absences from work due to incidents/accidents which occurred at work.
